The 2014 Law on Marriage and Family and other legal documents on marriage and family are silent about the separation of spouses. But certain laws show that the law recognises the separate residence of the husband and wife. This is expressedly provided for as follows: 

• The law recognizes the right of spouses to have their own domicile.

Article 20 of the Law on Marriage and Family provides: The domicile of husband and wife shall be selected as agreed by themselves without being bound by customs, practices or administrative boundaries.
