An agreement on the division of common property during the marriage period must be made in writing, and contain the following main contents:
- Reason for the property division;
- Shared property (including immovable property, movable property, and property rights); in which it is necessary to describe the assets to be divided or the value of the property to be divided;
- Undivided assets, if any;
- Effective time of the division of common property;
- Other contents.
This document must clearly state the date of the agreement and must be signed by both husband and wife. The written agreement may be witnessed by witnesses, notarized or certified at the request of the husband and wife or as prescribed by law.
