What conditions must adoptees meet to be adopted?

To be eligible for adoption, that person must meet the following conditions:

  • Children under 16 years’ old;
  • Persons aged between a full 16 years old and under 18 years old falling under the following categories: Being adopted by their stepfather or stepmother; Being adopted by an aunt or uncle;
  • A person may be adopted by one single person or two persons being husband and wife.
