Kala Lai

Kala is an Associate at Le & Tran. Prior to joining Le & Tran, she worked as a lawyer providing  legal advice and dispute resolution services to foreign investors.

She has more than 6 years’ experience providing legal advice to foreign investors in Vietnam on; investment, business, commercial, labour and M&A. Kala has considerable experience in licensing matters and has also dealt with many disputes relating to real estate, labour, debts, and matrimonial & family law matters.

In October 2022, she officially joined the ‘Family Lawyers’ Department, a legal branch of Le & Tran focusing on the practice of Family Law and Licensing.  She has contributed to successfully resolving matters relating to immigration licensing and legal private issues for foreign clients living and working in Vietnam or planning to come to Vietnam.

• Assisted overseas investors applying for an IRC in order to open a factory in Vietnam with a total investment of 3,000,000 USD.
• Assisted overseas investors applying for an IRC in order to enter a joint venture focusing on tourism activities with a total investment capital of 1,200,000 USD.
• Advised and represented companies and expats in obtaining work permits, visas, and temporary resident cards. 

Divorce 

• Assisted and advised a variety of clients on divorce procedures.
• Defended Vietnamese citizen in a divorce dispute over marital assets. 

Dispute resolution

• Participated in resolving a dispute over an apartment purchase and sale contract in court, protecting the rights and interests of the foreign client operating the real estate project in Vietnam. 
• Consulted on and participated in a dispute resolution over the division of property after a divorce.
